Different Types of Industrial Ovens - Conveyor Ovens, Drying Ovens and More!

October 10, 2013

Almost everyone’s familiar with conventional cooking ovens and what they can do for every household. Industrial ovens, on the other hand, are something alien to many; it’s not something that a lot of people are familiar with and not everyone would know about their specific uses and functions.

Industrial ovens come in various types like curing ovens, continuous ovens, and a lot more. They are big chambers which are heated to perform a wide variety of functions for industrial settings. These big or small industrial applications may continuously come in sets or batches on conveyor belts, or intended for different materials that require varying temperature settings. Industries or facilities that utilize such ovens are those engaged in chemical processing, manufacturing of food products, or those that produce circuit boards as electronic parts.

There is no standard model or type of industrial oven. An industrial overn manufacturer will produce them in various types and designs depending on the functions that they are intended to perform. These days, the most common ovens found in industrial settings include the following:

1.    Curing Ovens

These industrial ovens are used to generate some form of chemical reactions once a specific or set temperature is reached by a particular substance. They are commonly utilized for power coating processes.

2.    Drying Ovens

These types of industrial ovens are used to remove moisture from certain materials, and are also otherwise known as kilns. Drying ovens are very useful in pre-treating and painting of ceramic kilns.

3.    Baking ovens

When the processes or functions of curing ovens and drying ovens are combined, the equipment used is what we now call the industrial baking ovens.

4.    Batch ovens

Large bakery facilities make use of equally massive ovens called batch ovens. Otherwise termed as cabinet ovens or walk-in ovens, these are large enough to accommodate batch processes of curing, drying, and baking using wheeled carts, racks, or trucks.

5.    Conveyor or continuous ovens

These types of industrial ovens are integrated in automated processing lines. Industrial facilities that make use of conveyor or continuous ovens in their production assembly lines have higher capacities to process large amounts of goods or materials.

6.    Clean room ovens

There are industrial facilities like semi-conductor manufacturing or biotechnology industries that have high standard requirements for a clean room; these facilities make use of specially-designed industrial ovens called clean room ovens.

The specific needs and requirements of industrial facilities for ovens vary and are largely dependent on their operations. These days, there are more and more occurrences of an industrial oven manufacturer continuing to improve the designs and features of these ovens in their attempt to meet the demands of many industries. If you are in the market for a durable industrial oven, it is important to consider getting it from a reputable company with a high commitment for quality and functional designs. With numerous companies offering the same products, it becomes imperative for buyers to be diligent in selecting which one to choose to deal with. In such case, experience and track record in the industry should play important roles as factors to consider.
